Mecktoberfest 2026 at the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery strings together four fall weekends of German-style lager, oompah bands, and the biggest stein-holding spectacle in Charlotte. After two September weekends in LoSo, the festival lands at OMB Ballantyne for October 2-4 and October 9-11, 2026. Here is everything to know about Charlotte's original Oktoberfest tradition.

What makes this festival special?
OMB practically invented beer culture in Charlotte, and Mecktoberfest is its signature season. Two biergartens, four weekends, and all the oom-pah you can stand, with pours of the brewery's famous lagers flowing all day.
German-Style Lagers
OMB pours its lineup of authentic German-style brews, festbiers, and maerzens, the beers Oktoberfest was built around.
Oom-Pah Bands
Brass bands and polka energy keep both biergartens bouncing from open to close.
Brats & Pretzels
Grilled bratwurst, giant soft pretzels, and the brewery kitchen's German plates make it a full meal, not just a drink.
Stein-Holding Contests
The legendary stein-holding and dirndl-lifting contests draw serious competitive energy, and crowd participation is the point.
How much does it cost?
Entry to the biergartens is free; you pay as you go for pours and plates. Kids are welcome at the family-friendly daytime sessions at both locations, which is part of why this tradition lasts. The official brewery calendar has the full weekend schedule and any special events, and weekend crowds are real, so go early to claim a table.
